Optima Care launches its ‘Making a Difference’ initiative

Phil and EddieOptima Care recently launched its quarterly ‘Making a Difference’ initiative aimed at acknowledging areas where staff have gone the extra mile to help – whether that be another team member, the individuals we support or their carers and loved ones.

Staff may nominate themselves, or each other. Nominations may also come from the families of the people we support or their carers.

Our first award went to Phill Brown of the maintenance team for taking the initiative to teach practical maintenance skills to Sol at Kingsdown Lodge, Deal. Sol has been helping out with maintenance jobs for some time now and shows real skill and enthusiasm.

Phill commented, Sol is keen to help out and shows some promising skills, particularly when it comes to paining.”

We’re hoping that Sol will be motivated further by attending one of our future staff induction training sessions to talk about his experience.
