Activity Co-ordinator

The Chilterns, Westgate-On-Sea

The opportunity has arisen for an Activity Co-ordinator to work from The Chilterns.

The successful applicant will have a creative mind set and be enthusiastic and a good motivator of others. You will have a desire to promote positive outcomes for the people we support.

The successful candidate will be able to offer flexibility in working by being available to work to a rota basis covering mornings, afternoons and evenings over a 7 day period. This pattern of working will require some early starts or late finishes. This is to enable service users to access a range of activities. The ability to encourage life skills, including cooking skills to promote positive outcomes for the people we support would be an advantage.

You will be able to communicate well at all levels and have a good understanding of various external organisations, e.g. those offering voluntary work or local colleges and government agencies.

You will be a good team player and have a proven track record of problem solving being both resourceful and able to work on your own initiative. A full clean UK driving licence would be an advantage.

TMVA Instructor

An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of 2 individuals to become TMVA instructors for Optima Care. Individuals wishing to apply should meet the following requirements:

  • Existing employee of Optima Care
  • Experience of supporting individuals with significant challenging/complex needs
  • Experience of working within positive behaviour support guidelines
  • Demonstrate a good level of physical fitness
  • Understand the need for both physical intervention and proactive strategy to run concurrent with each other
  • Available to attend three week tutor course in north London

The successful candidates will continue to work in their respective services being released to attend the TMVA Instructor course and to deliver training.
